Our History
Our story began in 2022 when we broke ground and constructed our first cabin—Cabin 24. That summer, we welcomed our very first guests. Shortly after, six additional cabins were built. All of our cabins are constructed using locally sourced lumber, harvested in the Upper Peninsula and milled at our own lumber facility. Through hands-on experience, we quickly refined our methods for drying and preparing the wood to ensure the highest quality.
In 2023, we began construction of the Grand Quincy Lodge. These new cabins reflect valuable feedback from our guests and incorporate thoughtful improvements to enhance the overall experience. By the summer of 2024, the Grand Quincy Lodge officially opened its doors.
That same summer, we also began developing our campground. We brought in substantial amounts of sand to raise the land, installed utility lines, and set 80-foot pillars into the canal for the dock. Trees were planted throughout the grounds, and construction of the camp store commenced.
By spring 2025, the campground was completed. We laid gravel, planted grass, and officially opened the space for campers to enjoy.
Keweenaw Waters Resort continues to grow, and we are excited about what the future holds. Thank you for being a part of our journey and for discovering the beauty and adventure of the Keweenaw with us.
