Welcome to Keweenaw Waters Resort!

Keweenaw Waters Resort - the newest vacation destination in the Copper Country, currently features north woods crafted cabins.  Each cabin is sustainably developed.  The exterior is clad with Upper Peninsula white cedar, while the inside is adorned with white and red pine shiplap, all created by hand in our own sawmill.  The cabins are perched above the blue waters of Portage Canal connecting to Lake Superior.  When stepping into a cabin, the eyes are drawn to spectacular panoramic vistas along the Portage waterway.  Large, family sized decks and patios, complete with lounge chairs, tables, and BBQ grills, are the perfect place for gatherings while immersed in the unending landscape of rolling hills separated by the clear fresh waters.

Inside, the warm tones of the wood finishes and artisan Amish log furniture provides an “at home” atmosphere.  Lacking nothing, each cabin boasts fully appointed kitchens, plenty of seating, and large smart TVs.  The bedrooms deliver log queen beds and/or queen bunk beds outfitted with snuggle ready pillows to ensure a great night’s sleep.  Did someone say en suite?  Everyone appreciates their very own bathroom adjoining the bedroom.  No worries about the dirties as a large capacity washer and dryer are included.

For those who don’t like to contend with climbing stairs, Keweenaw Waters Resort has many cabins which offer zero elevation changes, from the front door all the way through to the bedroom.  As expected, playing cards and board games are in all cabins, however, many boost the fun-factor with pub tables, foosball, and shuffleboard.

Always striving, Keweenaw Waters Resort continues to envision the future with additional cabins, a full-hook up campground, swimming beach, boat launch and fishing dock.  A nature boardwalk through Coles Creek wetlands will surely saturate the senses.

Conveniently located only 1.5 miles from bustling downtown Houghton and ¼ mile from the all-season Bill Nichols trail, Keweenaw Waters Resorts extends broadly along nearly one mile of shoreline.  A bounty of adventure awaits when launching your exploration from Keweenaw Waters Resort.  At the cabin’s front door is access to endless miles of woodland trails.  A short drive brings you to world class downhill and cross-country skiing options, charter boats, golf courses, lighthouses, waterfalls, dining, and shopping.

As a year-round destination, Keweenaw Waters Resort truly takes the best Keweenaw Peninsula has to offer in nature and its people, to create memory making vacation stays.  Whether traveling alone, as a family, or posse of friends, Keweenaw Waters Resort is ready to host your trip to our beloved Copper Country in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
